Project Case I Zhengzhou Metro Line 12 Smart Metro Demonstration Line
The Phase I project of Zhengzhou Metro Line 12 starts from Lianghu Station in Guancheng Hui District and ends at Longzihu East Station in Zhengdong New District. The line connects important areas such as Zhengzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, Zhengdong New District CBD, and Longzihu University Park, and is an encrypted line in the network. The line is laid along Kaisan Street, Huanghe South Road, and Ping’an Avenue, with a total length of 16.538 kilometers, all of which are underground lines. It has 11 stations, 1 depot, and 2 main substations.
The overall direction is L-shaped from north to south to east to west, which alleviates the traffic pressure along the line and facilitates transfers with multiple lines. It was officially opened on December 20, 2023. After its opening, Zhengzhou Metro has 10 operating lines and a total operating mileage of 277.7 kilometers, ranking 13th in the country. After the completion of this line, it will strengthen the connection between various districts in Zhengzhou, providing citizens with more convenient transportation services and travel experiences.
The first phase of Zhengzhou Metro Line 12, as a demonstration line for smart subway, has been planned and designed in four intelligent directions: smart services, smart train operation, smart stations, and smart operation and maintenance. The Line 12, designed according to the fully automated operating system (UTO) technical standards, adopts modern computer, communication, control, and system integration technologies to achieve automated operation of the entire train process. The train adopts the international highest level (GoA4) fully automatic driving technology, which can achieve functions such as automatic sleep, wake-up, automatic operation, automatic fault diagnosis, and automatic cleaning.
