BOKE LED Dimming Technology Explanation

3 in 1 Dimming (0/1-10V/PWM/Rx)

0/1-10V Dimming

        0-10V dimming: It is currently one of the most widely used analog dimming technologies.It controls the output current of the LED driver and adjusts the brightness of the LED lamp by applying a DC voltage signal between 0 and 10V on the control line.

        BOKE’s 0-10V dimming interface features: Off below 0V, darkest at 0.3V, brightest at 10V, dimming range between 0.3-10V.

        1-10V dimming: The main difference from 0-10V is the dimming range of the lamp.
       Features of BOKE’s 1-10V dimming interface: Off at 0.9V and below, darkest at 1V, brightest at 10V, with a dimming range of 1-10V.

PWM Dimming

        PWM (Pulse Width Modulation): It is a digital dimming technology. It controls the average brightness of the LED by quickly turning on and off the LED lights (usually between a few hundred to several kilohertz) and adjusting the LED on time (i.e. duty cycle) during each cycle. The higher the duty cycle, the brighter the LED brightness; On the contrary, the lower the duty cycle, the darker the brightness.
        Simply put, if the light is turned on for 0.1 milliseconds and off for 0.9 milliseconds within 1 millisecond, the brightness of the lamp will only be one tenth of its original level.

Rx Dimming

        Rx Dimming: Rx dimming is a technique that controls the brightness of a light source by adjusting a potentiometer to change the resistance value in a circuit. Potentiometers, as a common electronic component, have variable resistance characteristics. By rotating or sliding their contacts, the resistance value in the circuit can be changed.
        In Rx dimming applications, the output current or voltage of the driving circuit is controlled by adjusting the resistance value of the potentiometer, thereby achieving the adjustment of the brightness of the light source.
